What paper is the best/safest for laser printers (not color)?

Posted in Copier Paper on June 26th, 2010 by Andrew – 3 Comments

I purchased the Brother 2040 B/W laser printer. I have some black and white photographs and wanted to print them out with the laser printer. However, I’ve heard that I can’t use gloss paper because the heat will melt the coating and ruin the printer. Is there high quality photo paper for laser printers? Does it make a difference if the paper is for color laser printers as opposed to black and white? Factors such as weight, iso brightness, gloss, matte…it is all becoming very confusing with such a wide selection.

The photos are pretty sharp and I want to use the highest possible quality paper that is the safest to use on the laser printer. I would like to get the most professional looking results possible with a laser printer. However, finding that paper is proving rather daunting!

Thanks for all your help!

Can i get excellent results using normal toner, or i must use some special? Excellent results means durable impressions using appropiate iron temperature and pressure. Thanks a lot.

Where to buy special glossy photo paper for laser printers?

Posted in Copier Paper on July 11th, 2010 by Andrew – 1 Comment

If you use glossy photo paper in printers it will melt and ruin the equipment so we have to buy special type of glossy paper that has SPECIFICALLY been made for laser printers

does anyone know where I can buy some in london?
I want to buy it from a physical shop and NOT from the internet!!
Thanks for your reply so far. I will look into it.

I would still like to know **where** to buy it, as opposed to what brand
